These general Terms and Conditions of usage and sale apply to the usage of, and sales conducted via, the website www.laine-et-co.com, and any other website operated by Laine & Co for the purpose if it’s business.
Please read these terms and conditions carefully, if you do not agree with them, do not use this website. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights. By using the Laine & Co website, you signify your agreement to be bound by these terms.
We will endeavour to provide uninterrupted, error free access to the website, however this cannot be guaranteed due to the nature of the Internet. Occasionally your access may be suspended or restricted to allow updates, upgrades or repairs; we will try to ensure that this is for the shortest time possible.
Your Shopping Account
When using the website, you are responsible for ensuring that your account details and passwords remain confidential and you agree to accept responsibility for all activities occurring under your account and password. If you believe this information has become known to someone else or that your account is being misused contact us immediately. When registering your details ensure that the information you provide us with is complete and correct and that you advise us as soon as possible should this change or you wish your details removed. Laine & Co reserves the right to edit or remove content, refuse access to the website or cancel orders at our discretion. Order Placement
You can place an order via the website www.laine-et-co.com, by telephone (0033(0)5 62 62 31 70 , by email to Laine & Co or by letter post to the address below.
When you place an order with us, we request information from you for billing, delivery purposes or for contacting you if we have a query. When we receive your order, you will be sent an email confirmation of the order and the order details. A contract between you and Laine & Co will only take place once that order has been accepted, processed and items despatched.
Pricing
We reserve the right of ownership of the product until full payment of the price and corresponding incidental costs has been received. The total costs are payable in full and in a single payment at the time of the order.
All products offered for sale by Laine & Co are invoiced in Euros. To facilitate delivery to non-Euro zone countries, prices in other currencies can be displayed. Conversion rates to display these currencies are obtained online from a number of sources and are updated regularly; these may differ slightly from the day to day rates available elsewhere.
All prices quoted are inclusive of TVA (VAT), but exclusive of postage and packing charges unless otherwise stated. Any customs or import duties due when your package reaches its destination country will be your responsibility.
We endeavour to ensure that the displayed description and price of products is accurate and we verify prices as part of our order processing. Such descriptions and prices are only for information can be modified without notice. Should there be a discrepancy in the description or displayed price for an ordered item, we would normally contact you to advise you and request instructions before despatch or cancel the order and notify you accordingly.
Availability
Although we try to ensure that this website displays products currently in stock, there may be occasions when an item either sells out before the website can be updated, or an order for an item may exceed the quantity immediately available; we will always try to ensure that yarn orders contain the same batch number for colour consistency. In these cases, we will inform you. All delivery dates are estimates and are subject to availability.
Payment
We accept online payments through a secure environment by credit or debit card. Do not email your card details. No responsibility can be taken for security if you provide your details in this way. Card fraud is illegal and will always lead to prosecution.
We accept all major debit and credit cards but not American Express or Diners Club. Payment by cheque is only accepted for posted orders and then only for cheques drawn against a bank account in France. Cheques should be made payable to Laine & Co. Please note that if you choose to pay by cheque, your order will only be despatched when the cheque is received. Full payment is required at all times; we do not accept part-payments.
Carriage Costs
Your order will be sent via La Poste Lettre Prioritaire, Lettre Max, or Colissimo suivi services according to your choice and the weight of the goods; Chronopost Express courier service may also be requested. The costs quoted include postage and packaging and are calculated according to weight and destination.
The Lettre services (Lettre Max only within France) will take the same time to arrive as a normal letter, i.e. up to about 8 days. The Colissimo service requires a signature on delivery, your package can be tracked online, and delivery is within 48 hrs. Insurance up to value of your order is automatically added to the costs for the Colissimo service.

Customs
Goods ordered from Laine & Co for delivery outside Europe may be subject to import duties and taxes which will be levied once the package reaches the destination country. You must pay any charges for customs. Contact your local customs officer for full details and regulations.
Delivery
We can deliver your order to your home or to an alternate address of your choice. The carriage costs of an order are displayed during the checkout procedure and you can select an alternative destination address or method of delivery at that time.
Ordered articles are checked by us before being carefully prepared for delivery. All items should be checked on arrival and, if damaged, you must return it to La Poste to have the damage recorded for your claim against La Poste insurance. Only then can we exchange the item.
It is not possible to have a package delivered to an address other than that indicated as the ‘delivery address’. If a delivery attempt fails, at their discretion La Poste will try a second delivery or leave an attempted delivery notice in your letter box.
Guarantee
All products supplied by Laine & Co are new and guaranteed against any defect at the time of their delivery. If an article is found to be defective at the time of delivery, Laine & Co will replace it.
The buyer must check that products are free from defects before using them. If a defect is found or if the delivered order is incorrect, do not use the affected items. Any error or defect must be reported to Laine & Co with 7 working days of receipt of the order.
Website Access
The contents of the website may not be copied, reproduced, duplicated, sold, downloaded or distributed by any means to third parties without our express written consent. You may copy or print details for the sole purpose of using the website while connected to the Internet. You must not use the website in any way that causes, or is likely to cause the website or access to it to be interrupted, damaged or impaired in any way. You must not use the website for fraudulent purposes, spamming or any unlawful activity.

Please note that pictures and images shown on this website denote an indicative representation only. Laine & Co can not be held be responsible for variations in colour between pictures and yarns, threads or fabrics.
All washing conditions and suggested knitting needle sizes are for guidance only. Laine & Co is not responsible for errors.
